The rowing world championships start today, Sunday 23rd August, in Poznan. Thames is represented by Ali Knowles in the GB women’s 8. We wish the Great Britain crews the best of luck. The official website is here.
Thames Rowing Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Al Heathcote as the Head Coach of Men’s rowing and Simon Fieldhouse as Head Coach of Women’s rowing.
Lenny Kennedy will be in the women’s GB 8 racing at the under-23 world champs in the Czech Republic 23-26 July. Currently off at a final training camp in Caversham, I’d just like to say Go Thames. Thames Rowing Club celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2010. Part of our celebrations will involve a redevelopment plan for our boathouse, and options for that work will be on display at the annual dinner tonight.
Some good racing at the weekend and great to see Thames picking up 4 pennants.
