The rowing world championships start today, Sunday 23rd August, in Poznan.  Thames is represented by Ali Knowles in the GB women’s 8.  We wish the Great Britain crews the best of luck.

Head coaches announced

Taking on the world (under-23s)

Lenny Kennedy will be in the women’s GB 8 racing at the under-23 world champs in the Czech Republic 23-26 July.  Currently off at a final training camp in Caversham, I’d just like to say Go Thames.

Head coach departs

Thames Rowing Club today announces the departure of Head Coach Lubomir Kisiov.
Will Pressley, Club Captain, said, “We are very grateful to Lubo for his efforts over the past two years.  He led the club to Gold-medal success at the 2008 National Championships and helped establish a tremendous commitment and work-ethic amongst the squads. [...]

Boathouse development plans unveiled tonight!

Thames Rowing Club celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2010. Part of our celebrations will involve a redevelopment plan for our boathouse, and options for that work will be on display at the annual dinner tonight.



Pairs head results

Some good racing at the weekend and great to see Thames picking up 4 pennants. Congratulations therefore go to the winners:

GB rowing trials

The first round of GB trials is at the end of October and starts with a 2k ergo test.  Those taking part must achieve certain times in order to progress to the sculling part the next day which is a 5k time trial.
