Unofficially Thames Rowing Club

Congratulations to Ali Knowles, TRC’s only representative in a crew racing on Sunday, taking on Yale University to win by 3 lengths in the Remenham Challenge Cup.  Ali was racing in a composite crew, which was all but one of the GB women’s 8.  TRC had rowers in 3 out 4 semi-finals of the Remenham Challenge on Saturday, with Lenny Kennedy in the under-23 boat that lost to the eventual winners, having beaten the Oxford Brookes/Tethys composite on Friday; and, the Thames Rowing Club 8 lost to Yale University on Saturday, having beaten Hansa Hamburg and Frankfurt, Germany on Friday .

Of our other entries, the Visitors crew went out to the eventual winners of the competition on Friday, missing out by just half a length to Isis.  Just 10minutes later our Thames Cup crew lost to Tideway Scullers School by one foot, having beaten first Herne Bay Amateur and then Royal Chester Rowing Club on Wednesday and Thursday.  The Brit and Wyfold fours went out on Wednesday to Glasgow and Wallingford respectively. In the junior event the Fawley composite crew with Westminster went out on Friday to a composite from Yarm School and York City.
